lafayette ron hubbard was a generally unscrupulous guy who used his knowledge of hypnosis and his talent for writing to drag himself out of poverty and make himself a billionaire with a fleet of superyachts and palatial estates around the globe.
why do not more writers do this?
average people are very stupid and manipulable, and they have money that could be yours!
some element of sociopathy is probably necessary, but are not writers known for being generally psychologically damaged?
i mean, there are people like tony robbins and oprah winfrey out there running game, but why is this competitive space so small?
artistic fulfillment is one thing, but clearly many smart modern authors are out for financial gain as well. why not do what hubbard did?
